Day Ninety Two February 11, 2008

So I’m starting to rethink the 365: last night’s efforts only increased my feelings oh humiliation: its bad enough that my sins find me out in any number of weird and wacky ways, but confessing to my drunken scut behaviour for the world wide web to see borders on the masochistic.

Today I’m grateful for confessing the most altering part of my life story to a new friend: telling someone that your Dad committed suicide doesn’t become any easier even with the passing of time, but she was wonderful: compassion without condescension, sympathy without pity and understanding without pretending to truly ‘get’ what it has meant for those of us left behind. That type of confession (isn’t it strange that I carry the information, in my head, under that particular label?) is good for my soul.

I’m also grateful for the news of a very new pregnancy, for two of my favourite people. The miracle of life starting all over again for two people who’ll be fabulous parents: I cried with delight down the phone.

Definitely a day of blessings…

I guessed the identity of the happy couple…then met them twice today -was lovely to chat to them, and we all predicted you’ll be a great ‘Aunt Carrie’ and will spoil the child when he/she arrives.
